Since that time, the foundation has provided over 7.5 million dollars in grants to over 500 organizations in the Troup & Chambers county communities. While the Charter Foundation previously operated out of the Charter Bank Corporate center, it has always been an independent entity. With the recent acquisition of Charter Bank by Center State Banks, we have moved the Charter Foundation to an independent location where the foundation’s work will continue. Washington and Sears CEO Julius Rosewald to improve educational opportunities for African American children in the rural south during the early 1900’s. Rosenwald School is one of twenty Rosenwald Schools built in Chambers County, Alabama.
